Our LauraLynn Partnership
When you’re caring for a child with a life-limiting condition, Small Things Matter.
LauraLynn is Ireland’s only Children’s Hospice. They provide specialist hospice care to children (aged 0-18 years) from all over Ireland. Their holistic approach enables them to support the whole family, allowing patients to be children and parents to be mums and dads instead of full time carers.
LauraLynn offers a range of services FREE of charge to families, including:
- Short Stays – to give the family a break
- home Support – nursing care & therapeutic activities at home
- Family Support - music & play therapy, sibling camps, counselling etc.
- End-of-Life Care
- Bereavement Support
Care is tailored to the needs of each child and family throughout their journey; from the child’s diagnosis, to end-of-life and in bereavement. Care can be availed of in the hospice in Leopardstown, at hospital, in the community, or in the family home, depending on the child and family’s preference.
Since opening in 2011, LauraLynn has cared for more than 325 children and their families and provided more than 300,000 hours of short stay care to children in LauraLynn Hospice.
It costs €5.1m per year to operate LauraLynn’s Children’s Hospice, €3.5m of which is generated via fundraising initiatives such as our ongoing Battery Recycling initiative with WEEE Ireland and our new ‘Small Things Matter’ campaign to recycle small electrical items.
